The Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA) has offered their Youth on Course opportunity to The First Tee of the Golden Isles, creating a statewide initiative for more on-course play. Youth on Course compliments The First Tee by providing members with golf course environments to demonstrate and display the inherent values of the game. For $5 a round at participating golf courses The First Tee participants are given the opportunity to PLAY the game of golf and receive a GSGA membership significantly breaking down financial challenges associated with continuous on-course play.
How to register
When you register for The First Tee of the Golden Isles on course programs you will automatically enroll in GSGA’s Youth on Course receiving a GSGA membership. There’s no additional registration needed so long as you stay active within The First Tee of the Golden Isles on an annual basis.
Once the basic enrollment information is submitted to the GSGA, your child should receive a Youth on Course membership card in the mail. The identification number on the card is also your (GHIN) number which allows each child to begin posting their scores and keeping a recognized handicap through the United States Golf Association.
The enrollment information that is sent to the GSGA is as follows: First Name, Last Name, Birthdate, Gender, Address, City, State, Zip, and Parents Email.
- Please call the facility to ensure that YOC rates and/or tee times are available that day. The availability is not guaranteed as many courses host outside events that take up the golf course, or tee times might be sold out.
- Your YOC membership card must be presented upon check-in at the pro shop to obtain the $5.00 rate.
- The $5.00 rate is for walking only for 9 or 18 holes depending on the facility. If you choose to ride in a golf cart, you may be subject to pay a cart fee. The rate also does not include range balls.
- Some facilities may charge sales tax on their rates. Please keep this in mind when you arrive at the golf course to play.
